Welcome to Broken Dreams! We are a new, literate canine roleplay. Here, you get to experience the life of a stray dog, and you control everything that happens in your character's life. We are an intermediate to advanced roleplay, so the word minimum here is 350 word per post. All breeds are allowed, and currently we are allowing species such as wolves, dingoes, jackals, and foxes that do not have to be purchased! You may be as creative as you would like to be here, and we encourage you to be so. Be sure to read the rules and announcements, and have fun here at Broken Dreams!
Every member must create a log after your first character is accepted. This is to help you keep track of your characters. Only one thread per member, please. Staff members are automatically granted a sub-board for their log. When you have been an active, loyal member for at least four months, you will also be granted one.
After two characters have finished their breeding thread - not a graphic one - the parents will use the forms inside here and one of them will create a new topic with the form, the other will reply with the form. A staff member will then post with the puppies, who may then be claimed by the parents, or put up for adoption.
This park, once used daily by citizens, is now abandoned, the playground equipment rusted, and the grass overgrown. This place is just a mess compared to how beautiful it was before it was abandoned. There are tunnels, covered picnic area, and a roof over a small area on one of the slides. This place is a good source of shelter, and often times you will find rabbits running through the tall grass, and some even have burrows.
This mall is huge. It is complete with three stories, a food court, and over one hundred mini stores inside of it. The glass on the bottom halves of the main doors are broken, the mall being robbed in the heat of the battle forty years ago. The floors are dusty and dirty and there are cobwebs and spiderwebs everywhere you look, so beware, because some of those spiders are poisonous. There are also quite a few rats wandering about, most of them diseased.
Indigo Beach hasn't changed a bit in forty years. It's still beautiful, especially at sunset. Hurricanes here aren't so fun, though. There is a roof and benches that run the whole way down the ramp to the beach, so dogs in need of shelter can relax and enjoy the view, with no humans to bother them.
The animals that once lived on this thirty-acre zoo are now gone. Some were sent to refuges in Africa and Australia, some died of starvation before they were removed from their enclosures. The only good thing about this place is the constant water supply it has, because of a few tubs of water in some of the enclosures, the pumps on some of them still barely running. There's also a little pond inside of the zoo that was built for the ducks and geese. It looks more like a pool, though, as the water is still clear - with leaves and some algae in it - having been kept very clean for the animals, but luckily there is no chlorine in it. Along with the constant water supply, there is easy access to the small shed built fr the ponies, the single-stall sheds still with clean shavings on the floor, with the occasional, decaying pile of manure.
This high school is a two-story brick building, now surrounded by three-foot-tall grass and weeds, with vines growing down the sides of the building. Some of the classrooms are locked, but most of them are open. Some of the whiteboards even still have writing on them. One of the classrooms has a whiteboard with the date of the last day the USA was running smoothly still written on it by a teacher the day before the USA went into war. The only entry into the school is through a broken cafeteria window that sits only about a foot off the ground, located on the back side of the building.
The building is locked up, and there are no broken windows or other entry ways. So, there is no access into the building. But, some of the car windows are broken, so tall, agile enough dogs may be able to jump into them for shelter. The building is overgrown with vines, the cars dirty, and grass growing in underneath the gravel parking lot.
Abandoned forty years ago, this place is a mess. Some of the cages are open, a lot of them with beds and toys remaining. There is a storage room where around fifty bags of dog food are stored, all setting on the floor. Only a few of the bags have been ripped open and eaten out of by the dogs intelligent enough to find this place.
There are tons of old, rusted cars in here. Nearly all of them have windows that are rolled down, or removed, for easy access. But, the cars that offer shelter are about the only things of interest here to the dogs.
The glass of the diner's doors is broken, making it easy for dogs to enter. The food is old, and not too safe to eat, even though the rats enjoy it. But, the leather-cushioned booths offer a comfortable place for a dog to rest.
This farm was abandoned forty years ago, like everything else in the United States, when the war began. Everything remains, although wearing and rusting away. Some young cattle are still here, their parents being the cows that were calves when the war started, all of which have long since passed. A couple horses still remain as well as some cats. Many other little critters still remain, many of which easy being easy prey for hungry strays.
Verde, of course, means 'green' in Spanish. And that's a very accurate term for this place, it's a well-named area. The valley is a lush green, and the grass is about two feet tall, and growing. It is truly beautiful to look at. The hills surrounding the valley aren't big at all, just rolling hills. There are areas between some hills that make for an easy entrance. The surrounding hills are also covered in woodlands, dense pine forests, thriving with wildlife and food sources.
Thanos means 'death' in Greek, and this place is correctly named. The cruel-hearted canines reside here, and trust me, if they see trespassers, death is the only option. So, don't trespass unless you wish to become one of them.
